Fleetguard Introduces Centriguard™ CH41111 Series with Maximum Soot Efficiency

4 DEC 03 -- Fleetguard Inc., the global filtration, exhaust, coolant and chemical specialist for diesel-powered equipment, has released a new Centriguard™ centrifugal lube filtration series that provides the maximum soot removal efficiency available on the market today. The CH41111 Centrifuge with patented SpiraTec™ technology fits applications of 8L - 30L engines and larger engines through the use of multiple centrifuges. The newest addition to Fleetguard's advanced technology Centriguard™ family has a 1L capacity and offers up to 50% reduction in soot levels - a significant improvement over conventional centrifuge designs.

The Centriguard™ system provides significant customer benefits, including lower operating costs through extended service intervals, lower replacement part cost and lower labor cost to service. Environmental waste is also reduced because the system is disposable and incinerable. "We ensured that the design has minimal environmental impact," said John Clevenger, Director of Product Management at Fleetguard, "because that is a critical issue to our customers and to our company."

In the 1990's. Fleetguard responded to the new OEM requirements with the first Centriguard™ centrifuge system with patented ConeStaC™ technology. Centrifugal filtration significantly reduces wear rates of key components through its highly efficient soot and contaminant removal process. The CH41111 Series goes a step further by combining a revolutionary split-flow design, combined with SpiraTec™ spiral vane technology, to provide the highest soot removal efficiency available. The CH41111's performance can be customized for a specific OEM need. "These advancements ensure better performance than an empty rotor, since the empty rotor's performance is fixed and lower than Fleetgaurd's latest technology," Clevenger explained.

The series includes the CH41111 Remote Mount Gravity Drain System and the CH41112 Remote Mount Air Assisted Drain System. The system reduces cylinder liner polishing and valve bridge/rocker arm wear caused by accumulation of particles smaller than five microns. This requires higher efficiencies at smaller micron sizes with a greater capacity. SpiraTec™ technology effectively removes these tiny particles, while extending full flow service intervals (depending on severity of duty cycles) and improving oil viscosity and fuel economy. "Compared to empty rotor designs, Centriguard™ CH41111 and CH4112 collects three times (3x) the amount of soot of conventional systems. It is a unique approach to reducing soot and unlike any other system on the market," said Clevenger.

Fleetguard Inc. is a wholly owned business unit of Cummins Inc. and the world's leading designer and manufacturer of heavy-duty air, fuel, hydraulic and lube filtration, chemicals and exhaust system technology products for diesel-powered equipment. Fleetguard cares about maintaining a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment.
